Our Story: Building Better for Man’s Best Friend
Eric Grenier has been a licensed general contractor in Florida since 2008. Early in his career, he found a unique calling and made a pivotal decision: to dedicate his construction expertise exclusively to building veterinary clinics and animal shelters. This focused passion led to the creation of EG Contracting (EGcontractingco.com).
Through years of working on the ground with rescue organizations, Eric and his team noticed a recurring problem. Shelters were constantly struggling with old, inadequate kennels that simply couldn’t withstand the elements or the wear and tear of daily animal use. These facilities were in desperate need of a heavy-duty, rot-proof, and hurricane-proof dog house.
The Innovation
Determined to find a solution, the EG Contracting team set out to engineer the ultimate animal shelter. Combining their extensive construction knowledge with a deep understanding of animal care needs, they designed and developed a revolutionary dog house built strictly from the highest-quality outdoor, animal-resistant materials.
To ensure the design could hold up to the most demanding conditions, Eric provided the very first model to the Animal Refuge Center in North Fort Myers, Florida, as a real-world test.
Proven by the Pros
The results spoke for themselves. The durability, safety, and ease of maintenance provided by the new design were exactly what the shelter had been looking for. The trial was such a resounding success that the Animal Refuge Center soon decided to replace all 60+ of their existing houses with the new EG design.
